THTREMUS 476 Costume Crafts is an advanced specialization course offered in the Department of Theatre & Drama.
Students in the Design & Production area elect this course to learn various costume technology techniques. In Winter 2020 Prof. Christianne Myers used the prompt "Radial Symmetry" to guide various projects. For this stencil project, students identified images of radial symmetry found in nature. Then they designed a multi step stencil pattern, created vector files based on those designs, and cut the stencils using a laser cutter. The patterns were hand painted with textile paint or dye. Additional projects include millinery and resin casting for jewelry making.
